If you care about such things, you might have noticed I have a pending Best Graphic Novels of 2015 list that I haven’t presented yet. All apologies. The world has gotten in the way of me having completed the reading I set out to do, and as we’re rounding the corner to February time isn’t on my side. So here’s a quickie version of the stuff I managed to finish: The Private Eye (Brian K Vaughan & Marcos Martin) The Divine (Tomer & Asaf Hanuka), The Sculptor (Scott McCloud), Space Dumplins (Craig Thompson), Annihilator (Grant Morrison & Frazer Irving) and UR (Eric Haven) all were definitely on that list. Let’s look to the future now.
Speaking of the future, we’re starting to see some DRAW MONTHLY! entries trickle in, and they’re looking sharp! We have also secured our first celebrity judge-- CHRIS VISIONS! You know him from Dead Letters and Constantine (and our sign outside), and soon you’ll know him even better from Scarlet Witch and Spider-Gwen-- both from Marvel! So get to work, maybe win some store credit, and decide whom everyone has to draw for the next round! This month: DOCTOR STRANGE! The specs: max 9” x 12”, any media! Any interpretation!
